Message from Steve

To everyone at Tempo,

I really enjoyed meeting you all at Leander Club in Henley-on-Thames. I have to say that I was a little bit nervous and was not sure how well the story of Great Britain winning an Olympic Gold medal would go down with a Romanian Advertising Agency!  I was also a little bit intimidated at first standing in front of five-time Olympic Champion Elisabeta Lipa with my only one Gold medal.  But you all gave me such a fantastic welcome - such a nice surprise that I almost hit a couple of you with my oar, sorry! 

Straight away I knew you were a good fun team with lots of energy and from then on I had a lot of fun meeting you all and telling you my story.  I have to say it was really special when you all gave the four of us that standing ovation at the end of the race so thank you all very much for that. 

I have to thank you also for the opportunity to meet Elisabeta, without Tempo it wouldn’t have happened.  It was a real honor to meet a great rowing legend and such a modest and nice person - a great role model for any sportsperson.

It was a flying visit but I really enjoyed meeting you all.  I’m sure you all had a fantastic time at the Lion King - I have seen the show and think it is superb. Thank you for my Paddington Bear Teddy - I have given it to my 2 year old niece who loves it (and says thank you too!).
